Harvest Field Online Bible X study promo/intro video

In the short time since Harvest Field had left the recesses of my imagination and became a reality, we have expanded from small discipleship/leadership training meetings, to medium sized in-home discipleship Bible studies, and now we are moving into online Bible studies as well! As a long time psoriasis sufferer, I often feel like a leper.  It is often depressing and even faith shaking.  Luckily, as I drift further into solitude, separating myself from the world for fear of what they might think and say, I find more and more solace in the word.  I wanted to take a second to list some of my favorite verses that help me deal with my disease.  If you are a psoriasis sufferer or know anyone who is, these might be helpful to you too…enjoy!

Salvation? There’s an app for that!

These days, there’s an app for everything.  You want to time your contractions?  No problem!  Want to know the exact temperature and time to grill that steak for a perfect steakhouse flavor?  You can easily do that with a free download from the appstore too.  And who can forget about the absolute necessity of Angry Birds?  Don’t act like you haven’t played it!  But with all the games and apps that allow you to do…well…everything, how many of the apps on your phone or device have any REAL value?  I often like to point out things that humans do that waste or pervert the technologies that we’ve created or possess, but I often overlook the good that people have done through the same technologies.  For every hundred thousand worthless apps on the Android market, you come across something priceless like the YouVersion Bible app.  Want to know God more and get into right relationship with Christ through his word??  There’s an app for that!

Odd man out.

Do you ever feel like the odd man out?  You ever feel like you can’t fit in with the people around you?  Like you don’t understand or agree with their jokes or topics for conversation but almost feel obligated to laugh or join in in order to fit in?  I do.  All the time.  There’s always pressure from all around to conform and compromise.  I just keep trying to remind myself of what it is that I’m not fitting into.  With a world so full of sin, shame, guilt and pain you’d think everyone would be trying to get out rather than fit in.
